Dear É

The Rideau Canal Festival would like to thank you for participating in this yearŐs Connecting Children with Heritage Program activity, Shoescape. Your participation has helped to make the activity a success as we reached our goal of 1,000 painted shoes! We hope that the experience for the students was a positive one.

The decorated shoes will be on display from July 30 until August 2, 2010 at various festival sites. The locally decorated ones will be on show at the Bytown Museum/Ottawa Locks and Confederation Park. Other shoes from Saskatchewan will be seen at Dows Lake. The shoes will be available for purchase as of 3pm Monday, August 2, 2010 for $5.00 at the Bytown Museum and Confederation Park sites. The money raised from sales will be used to fund next yearŐs Connecting Children with Heritage Program. Should you have any questions please contact Lindsay Morrison at program@rideaucanalfestival.ca. A website with some images of the student work is at http://moniqueart.com/love%20locks%20and%20promises/shoescape/Shoescape.html

We hope that all participants will come and join us with their friends and family in celebrating the Rideau Canal, our local UNESCO World Heritage Site and take in the Shoescape art installation. We look forward to working with you again in the future as part of the Connecting Children with Heritage Program and seeing you at the festival this year!

Thank you again!

Sincerely,

Rideau Canal Festival
